We are in the final stages of
getting ready for our trip across the continent. Getting everything we need into a Ford Mustang Mach e for a 4+ month trip taking us to varied locations and climates is challenging. Since we are camping in our car for portions of the trip, we have more equipment and gear to accommodate. The key here is organization.
Last week we did a test pack and took pictures to help us repack in an orderly way. The first picture is taken of the "frunk" or the compartment under the hood of the car made possible by the lack of a gas-powered engine. Since that area can become dusty, we are using that space for our hiking boots, our day packs and the canopy that we can attach to the back of our car when we are camping. We also have a portable table stowed here.
The second picture shows the back of the car with the tailgate open. We have our laptops, cooler, cooktop, and plastic bins that will hold our clothes, inflatable mattress, bedding and kitchen/food supplies.
Not pictured is the area that is under a movable platform below the cooler. That area is used to store our EV charger cords, portable toilet, pop-up changing tent, and various tools/supplies (including bear spray, in case anyone is concerned).
It's getting exciting around here - only a few more days before we are off on our adventure!
